Mt. Hood Sojourn

I had a little sojourn on Mt. Hood last weekend exploring a new bouldering spot that I'd thought I'd check out. It worked out for me to roll the exploration into a "me-time" solo camping trip. The bouldering spot turned out to fun, but nothing to get excited about. The solo camping trip was awesome.

I spent the night at the beautiful high mountain "Alpine" campground about a mile from the Timberline Lodge. In the morning I snapped the sunrise photo below from the campground. I'm guessing the two little pairs of green and red "eyes' are flares from aiming my lens directly into the sun, but they do give me the "willies".  I've seen some weird unexplainable orbs in friends pictures and noticed that none of the other photos I made at the same time had these eyes or any other lens flares. Maybe I'm making too much of it, but notice that each set of eyes is centered on a tree so they stand out. Also I can't help but wonder why one set is pure green and on is pure red??  Yeah, man! The science guy is superstitious...

Later in the morning I hoofed it up to the top of the Timberline Ski Area's Buttercup chair for some more bouldering. Bouldering in the morning in an alpine setting was pretty much the Cat's Meow...
